On January 21, 2021 the HPVCancerFreeGA working group, alongside the Susan Jolley Awareness Program, and the Georgia Cancer Control Consortium hosted our 4th annual Cervical Cancer Awareness day event.  Over 50 participants joined us in discussing the importance of HPV Vaccination to prevent Cervical Cancer.  We were joined by FIVE HPV Vaccine Champions (3 healthcare providers and 2 community based organizations) recognized for their efforts to improve HPV Vaccination acceptance and coverage across the state.  We were also joined by Georgia State Representative, Teri Anulewicz who has been a staunch supporter for the HPV vaccination and who continues to support our efforts towards advocacy and promotion of the HPV vaccination.  1. 2021 First Annual HPV Awareness Day

On March 4, 2021 the HPVCancerFreeGA Working Group alongside the Georgia Cancer Control Consortium and our supporting partners hosted our first annual HPV Awareness Day to bring awareness of the HPV vaccination and six HPV-related cancers which can be prevented by HPV Vaccination.  We were joined by over 100 participants and heard testimonials from two gentlemen who have been impacted by HPV-related cancers.  We were also joined by Georgia state representatives who voiced their support for the HPV vaccination and by numerous others.

HPV Vaccinations, Getting Back on Track

This webinar was hosted by the HPVCancerFreeGA Working Group on September 30, 2020 and is the first in a series of three webinars.  In this webinar, we discussed strategies and best practices for getting adolescents back on track for HPV vaccination and ensuring they are caught up.

How to Leverage Data from GRITS and the Value of Reminder/Recall

The second of a three-webinar series.  We recorded this webinar on October 22, 2020. This webinar focuses on leveraging data from the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS) and the Value of Reminder/Recall Systems.

We have the immunization data, now what?

Our final of our three-part HPV vaccination series was completed on November 19, 2020.  This webinar focused on the next steps for developing and implementing new strategies, interventions, and best practices for use to encourage greater HPV vaccination uptake and completion.
